Chalet Espen is your ‘home’ during your stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The fact that we usually accommodate a maximum of around 14 guests means that we can provide you with a high level of personal service and attention. It also means that there is plenty of space and privacy available in the chalet. These are some of the main benefits of choosing to stay in a chalet rather than the more impersonal and restrictive environment of a large hotel.
After booking your stay at Chalet Espen, and before you arrive, we will tell you all about the chalet, the resort and give you any travel information you may need, including detailed instructions on how to get here by road or train.
If you are travelling to Engelberg by train, we will meet you at the station in the centre of the village in our Land Rover, which can seat 8 passengers. On arrival at Chalet Espen, we will show you around and tell you about all the many things that the resort has to offer.
In the Spring, Summer and Autumn seasons we usually provide bed and breakfast accommodation for our guests, although we may be able to provide half board for larger groups. Breakfast consists of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, fresh bread and croissants, and free tea and coffee are available all day.
While you are staying with us, we will endeavour to help you in any way we can. For example, we can help you to organise activities and excursions in Engelberg and elsewhere in Switzerland, and assist you with your travel arrangements. We can even reserve tables at restaurants and book local attractions like monastery or museum tours, wood carving courses, cheese-making demonstrations and guided walks if you would like us to.
