Engelberg is not just about sporting activities – it’s easy to relax and take it easy here too, or try some of the many non-sporting activities on offer.
Non-sporting activities
There are many non-sporting activities on offer in Engelberg including visits to the monastery, woodcarving lessons, horse-drawn carriage rides around the village, and much more.
The resort also runs a varied programme of events throughout the Summer, from June to October. These include guided bike tours, nordic walking demonstrations, behind the scenes tours of the cable cars, kayaking on the lake and barbecues at Trubsee or on the Brunni mountain.
You can also take a guided tour or just visit the Titlis summit at 3229 metres, from where you can take a spectacular chair-lift ride over the glacier, or visit the glacier cave for a fascinating view of the inside of a glacier.
We’re sure you will find plenty to keep you occupied, but if at any time you fancy doing nothing much at all, you can always just take it easy in our garden.
Health and relaxation
Health and well-being are a key aspect of the alpine experience and you can experience these in Engelberg. There are two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) and two spas offering saunas and a host of beauty treatments and massages. These come highly recommended by our guests.
For a more off-beat and unique experience, why not try a relaxing and refreshing Whey bath in the open air on the Titlis mountainside, which we can arrange for you. Whey is a 100% natural cosmetic produced from milk. The natural substances in Whey protect the skin from drying out and its ph-neutral value enhances the protective shield of the skin. The Whey is warm, and comes straight from the dairy on the Gerschnialp meadow. The bathtub has space for two, and is placed in a secluded spot, with showers available nearby.
