Chalet Espen today consists of two parts.  The original building has been retained and is very atmospheric.  We still use the original dining area or stübli, which is full of character, with murals on the wall and low beamed ceilings.

The newer part of the chalet was added last century and has recently been renovated and refurbished from top to bottom, to a very high standard.  This part of the chalet now comprises 6 double bedrooms with modern en-suite facilities, as well as a single bedroom. All of the double rooms have Swiss double beds (which are wider and longer than UK doubles). Single beds can be added to two of the rooms, making them suitable for use as twins.

All of the bedrooms are light and bright, with wonderful mountain views. 

Also in the newer part of the chalet is our spacious but extremely cosy lounge with log fire, for relaxing in at the end of the day.  There is plenty of comfortable seating for guests and board games are available, as well as a selection of CDs and DVDs, and an MP3 docking station and speakers (for ipods). Wireless internet is also available in the chalet.  

Chalet Espen can be booked for the exclusive use of a large group, or by guests travelling separately or in smaller groups.  We will normally accommodate 12 to 14 adult guests in the newer part of Chalet Espen, although there is a further double bedroom (with two bunk beds and two single beds) and a single bedroom, together with a private bathroom available in the original part of the chalet, if a larger group wishes to travel together.  We also have cots and children’s beds which can be added to many of our rooms (please see our “Children” page for details of this and the other facilities we offer for families).
